Meet the BIPAC Executive Board

Miriam FinkZionism is a major pillar in my household, and a strong US-Israel relationship has resonated with me for as long as I can remember. I needed an outlet to continue my support for the state of Israel, so that is why I decided to be involved in BIPAC. I have served on the board for the past two years, and, finally, in my senior year, I am lucky to be a co-president of BIPAC. Being a president has allowed me to shape BIPAC into something that is more welcoming to people of different backgrounds, and I can better assert my duty to support the state of Israel.

David Schwartz: I am excited to be co-president of BIPAC this year! As someone who has supported Israel for a long time both on and off BIPAC board, I look forward to stepping up my game. Hailing from the far-off island of Newton, MA, I grew up as an acitve member of the Jewish community there. Now an active member of the Jewish community here, I find particular interest in increasing the Israel advocacy within the Jewish community of Brandeis. On that note, if anyone wants to get more involved in BIPAC, please let me know: dsch914@brandeis.edu

Jonas Singer: I am excited to be in a position where I can make a positive impact on the American Israel relationship on campus and help others take action as well!

Ari Givner: I am excited to be on BIPAC board because the Israel is important to me. It is the homeland of the Jewish people, where our ancestors lived, worked, ate, and worshipped. They had a special bond to that land the persisted long after they were exiled. For thousands of years Jews have been praying and dreaming of returning to holy land. We are very fortunate to live in a time where their dreams are the reality. The land of Israel is once more a home and safe haven for the Jewish people and I a few compelled to do all I can to make sure it stays that way.

Tzlil Levy: I am happy to serve as treasurer for BIPAC this year. Planning pro-Israel events with fellow board members is a great way to reach out and engage with our community. We have open discussions, host speakers, and lobby government officials in Massachusetts. I am proud to represent BIPAC and work with our school and different organizations for monetary support and funding in order to achieve our goals. As treasurer it is my responsibility to make sure BIPAC receives enough funding in order to put up the great events that we do.

Ben Margolin: I’m very excited to serve as your Campus Engagement Coordinator because I have the unique position of connecting the pro-Israel community with the community at large. Running joint events, publicizing our information, and helping to educate the public are all things that will make our next generation of leaders pro-Israel, can change future public opinion, and shed a positive light on our pro-Israel message. This year, we will co-sponsor a plethora of events with a great multitude of clubs, and we will have the ability to interact with a diverse group of campus leaders. If anyone wants to get more involved; please let me know

Brian Budik: I am very excited to be this year’s Legislative Coordinator for BIPAC. Lobbying members of congress is one of the ways that we can connect BIPAC students with our government officials off campus. By planning and facilitating our lobbying meetings, I will ensure that the club will not only stay strong within Brandeis, but we can demonstrate the great work of BIPAC outside of Brandeis, while working for our pro-Israel cause!

Michelle Schein: For me, BIPAC is much more than simply a school club. It's a representation of values I look to uphold for the rest of my life. The group's focus on supporting Israel by sending out the message that the state is not only a Jewish issue but is an American issue is the message I want to fight to instill in all Americans for generations to come. I couldn't be more honored to be on the board of a club that looks to be inclusive of all walks of life in its attempt to draw support for the state of Israel.

Daniel Shpilsky: I am excited to be first year rep because it gives me the opportunity to get involved with one of the most successful pro-Israel groups on campus. I am looking forward to spreading awareness about the importance of a strong US-Israel relationship and to planning events related to Israel for the greater Brandeis community.
